The Sacred Cenote
The Sacred Cenote The site of Chichen Itza has two major cenotes. One was used for drinking water and was used for sacrifices. The Sacred Cenote has been yielded many artifacts. A stone platform on the south end overlooks the large green pool. A sacbe leads from the cenote back to the main area and El Castillo.
